BOSSIER CITY, La. – Bossier City leaders unveiled a new municipal brand and long-term strategic vision Tuesday during a press conference at Louisiana Boardwalk, introducing the slogan “Bossier Moves” alongside a modernized city logo and a campaign showcasing the city’s accomplishments while outlining its direction for the decades ahead.
The initiative, which will be housed online at BossierMoves.com, is designed to unify the city’s identity while highlighting investments in infrastructure, public safety, economic development, quality of life, and long-range planning.
Outgoing City Council President Chris Smith said the initiative represents far more than a marketing campaign.

“This is not just a logo or a branding strategy. It’s a bold vision for the future and a promise to future generations. The decisions we make today belong to tomorrow. Through responsible financial stewardship, thoughtful planning, strategic investment, and a unified identity, we’re building a city that will be stronger, more competitive, and better prepared for the opportunities ahead. This is about leaving the next generation a Bossier City that’s stable, prosperous, and ready to thrive.”
Throughout the presentation, officials repeatedly emphasized the theme “The Decisions We Make Today Belong to Tomorrow,” describing the branding initiative as the public face of a broader strategic plan for the city’s future.
City leaders said the new brand is intended to provide a consistent identity across city departments while helping Bossier City better compete for residents, visitors, businesses, and private investment.
As part of the initiative, officials announced the launch of BossierMoves.com, which will serve as a central hub highlighting city projects, accomplishments, and future priorities.
The branding package features a contemporary wordmark with a patriotic-inspired color palette of deep teal, light aqua, sand, white, and red. Multiple logo variations will be used across city facilities, publications, websites, signage, vehicles, and promotional materials.
One of the campaign’s central themes is preparing Bossier City for long-term growth.
Officials highlighted work underway on a new Comprehensive Master Plan and Unified Development Code, describing them as the framework that will guide smart, sustainable development for decades.

The presentation also emphasized continued debt reduction, responsible financial stewardship, and strengthening the city’s long-term fiscal position to ensure future generations inherit what leaders described as “a city that is strong, stable, and ready.”
Defense, Innovation, and Economic Development
City leaders also highlighted Bossier City’s growing national profile in defense and technology.
Among the accomplishments presented was the city’s designation as one of only three communities nationwide recognized as a 2026 Great American Defense Community, reflecting its close relationship with Barksdale Air Force Base.
Officials also noted collaboration with House Speaker Mike Johnson to codify Air Force Global Strike Command’s future in federal law.
The presentation further highlighted partnerships with the Cyber Innovation Center and the National Cyber Research Park aimed at fostering collaboration among defense contractors, military organizations, researchers, and technology companies.
Officials pointed to several quality-of-life initiatives that have been launched or expanded in recent years.
Those include the reopening of the Mike Wood Memorial Pool through a partnership with Rock Solid Athletics, expanded neighborhood beautification efforts, enhanced grounds maintenance, partnerships with Keep Bossier Beautiful, and community events such as Movies in the Park and Firehoses & Popsicles.
City leaders said those investments are intended to strengthen neighborhoods while creating a greater sense of community throughout Bossier City.
Infrastructure and Public Safety
According to the presentation, Bossier City has invested approximately $160 million in infrastructure since 2021, including $120 million in projects currently under construction and $40 million in completed improvements.
Those investments include roads, drainage, utilities, sidewalks, and upgrades to public facilities across the city.
Officials also highlighted what they described as the largest investment in public safety staffing in Bossier City’s history, with $1.5 million allocated in 2026 to fund 20 new positions across the police and fire departments.
Incoming City Council President Brian Hammons credited the project to collaboration among elected officials, city administration, communications professionals, and members of the community.
“This brand represents months of collaboration between our city administration, marketing professionals, elected officials, community leaders, and residents who shared their ideas throughout this process. It’s exciting to see everyone come together around a common vision for Bossier City’s future. ‘Bossier Moves’ isn’t simply a slogan. It reflects the momentum our city has built and our commitment to continue moving forward together.”
While the redesigned logo was the most visible change unveiled Tuesday, city leaders made clear they view the initiative as much more than a visual refresh.
The Bossier Moves campaign is intended to communicate a long-term vision centered on strategic planning, responsible governance, investment in infrastructure, strong public safety, economic opportunity, and community engagement.
As the new branding rolls out across city departments in the coming months, officials say the measure of its success will not simply be public recognition of a new logo, but whether it represents continued progress toward building the Bossier City envisioned throughout Tuesday’s presentation: one prepared to meet the needs of today’s residents while laying the foundation for generations to come.
