The Parkway Lady Panthers had a successful outing at the Sandra Meadows Classic Basketball Tournament in Dallas, Texas, finishing in third place. The tournament, named after former Duncanville Pantherette coach Sandra Meadows, is a prestigious 32-team event. In the semifinals, the Lady Panthers fell to the highly ranked Duncanville Panthers (No. 14 in ESPN’s Top 25) 61-51. However, the Lady Panthers bounced back and defeated La Vega 63-58 in the third-place game.

Mikaylah Williams and Chloe Larry led the Lady Panthers in scoring against Duncanville, with 20 and 16 points respectively. Despite trailing 28-15 at halftime, the Lady Panthers outscored Duncanville 18-8 in the third quarter and narrowed the deficit to three. Williams continued to shine in the game against La Vega, scoring a game-high 33 points and being named to the All-Tournament team. Larry added 14 points in the victory.

The Lady Panthers (15-5) will now turn their attention to defending their District 1-5A championship. The team will look to continue their strong performances with excellence in teamwork, and coaching.
