It’s the middle of summer but Parkway High School is already making plans, and some changes, for the 2024-2025 school year. Parkway High School is rolling out an updated dress code aimed at fostering a focused, yet comfortable learning environment for SOBO students. Here’s a detailed look at what students and parents need to know about the new guidelines:

Shirts
Colors: Solid black, red (not maroon), navy, or white.
Logos: Must not be excessive; the administration will have the final say.
Spirit Shirts: Parkway spirit shirts bought from the spirit store are acceptable.


Bottoms
Pants: Solid navy, gray, khaki, or black; joggers that are not made of sweatpant material are permitted. Note that stripes, designs, and large logos are prohibited.
Prohibited: Sweatpants or tights.
Shorts: Must be navy, khaki, gray, or black, and they should not be rolled up. They must also be fingertip length.
Girls’ Options: Navy, khaki, gray, black skirts, skorts, or capri pants (no jumpers), all must be fingertip length.
Styles: Butterfly hem styles and asymmetrical hemlines are prohibited.
Fit: Pants must be worn at the waist without sagging.

Outerwear
Colors: Solid black, navy, red (not maroon), solid gray, or white-colored jacket, coat, sweater, sweatshirt, or vest.
Length: Outerwear must not be longer than the length of shorts or skirts.
Hoodies: Still allowed, but hoods must not be worn inside the building. Hoodies should be solid in color (red, white, gray, black), and graphics should be manageable with one hand.

Headphones and earbuds
Blankets
Jeans
Sweatpants
Tights
Hats and bandanas
Leggings
Pajamas
House shoes
Multicolored outerwear
For more details, refer to the 2024-2025 Student Handbook. Remember, the administration has the final approval on what is acceptable on campus.

    Something I have seen from other schools changing their dress code shows kids an actual acceptable and prohibited clothing so there is no question about what they should wear. You will probably get a lot of parents and students fighting this. But if the parents would Make their children dress appropriately uniforms would not be necessary. Best of luck
