Story by: Wes Merriott

South Bossier has it’s own culture – our own collective thoughts and feelings about what we like (and don’t like) in Louisiana. Bossier City is a little gem in Northwest Louisiana, but to say everyone in town fits in the same mold would be a big misstep! South Bossier City (and the surrounding area out in the Parish) has always had a different perspective than the rest of the area, and now SOBO has it’s own voice as well.

sobo.live is a reflection of this unique community.

In South Bossier, we were raised saying, “Yes, sir” and “Yes, ma’am”, and we always held the door at the gas station for strangers. When we travel, we talk about the cooking and how Louisianians just know how to season things a little bit better. We love our high school sports and we are proud of our kids accomplishments – on and off of the field.

South Bossier has had it’s own political ideology as well: We tend to run a little more conservative, but we were raised to treat everyone with respect, regardless of how ridiculous we might have thought those beliefs were in private. We really don’t like when government wastes our money or oversteps its charter when it comes to personal freedom. We love our law enforcement officers and back them up when they do the difficult job of policing and do it well. But we are quick to scorn any public servant that steps beyond what’s right and decent.

SOBO is our home, our community, and in part, our identity.

sobo.live is here to amplify those voices and the traditions we cherish. sobo.live is reporting on local sports and events, showcasing local (and nearby) businesses, and highlighting our community leaders and the issues we want to know about. SOBO is an incredible place to call home, and we want to share with you the news and events that matter.

Welcome.
