SHREVEPORT, LA: The Shreveport Mudbugs finally snapped a demoralizing six-game losing streak Saturday night in their home game versus the Oklahoma Warriors! If you haven’t been to a Shreveport Mudbugs game in a while, this family-friendly event is great for a date night, kids night out, or just something fun with friends.
The excitement began early when the Mudbugs’ Jake Mack scored not even one minute into the first period, and that would prove to be the only score until the third period. Despite the defensive struggle during the rest of the first and the second periods, fans were treated to continuous entertainment courtesy of the Mudbugs’ frequent contests, features, and special events throughout the game.

The third period was dizzying, with Oklahoma scoring twice uncontested soon after the beginning of the period. Mudbugs’ Garrett Steele and Logan Gotinsky scored, bringing the lead to 3-2, with Oklahoma answering with their own goal a few moments later.
Gotinsky scored his second goal with two minutes remaining in the third, and the ‘Bugs were able to seal the win, giving a huge relief to the home crowd seeing their team break the streak of 6 consecutive losses.
The Mudbugs host the Odessa Jackalopes Friday, October 7th at 7:11pm. Tickets start at just $12, and are available online or at any local Brookshire’s Grocery Store.
Notes: The Shreveport Mudbugs are a Tier II Junior ice hockey team competing in the North American Hockey League (NAHL), replacing the formerly SOBO-based professional team known as the Bossier-Shreveport Mudbugs.
